HEIGHT TOP FARM HOLIDAY COTTAGES
After having no BT landline or internet connection for two whole weeks, we are finally able to blog our latest news.

THURSDAY, 12th. SEPTEMBER.  Today with the expert help of year 4, Higham St. John's School, the wild flower seeds were spread in our field.  We hope it can be an ongoing project for the children and look forward to seeing the flowers next June.

Bradley Wiggins!

Lee, a regular guest to our cottages and a regular contributer to our blog had a birds eye view of "Bradley" passing by this morning.

Whey Heeeeyyyy! Friday night?  Another good job done and my two favorite girls must feel better for being clipped in this glorious sunshine and exceptional heat.

What a week!!! Started hay making last Friday. Cut and left. Worked through three times on Saturday, same Sunday. Rowed up Monday and left. Wuffled Tuesday lunchtime and started baling 2pm. Worth every minute to have such good hay and it smells wonderful too.

Cast your mind back 50 years. This photo taken last week by Lee, a guest in our cottages.
Alfred Hitchcock, "The Birds". I've seen it once as a child and once was enough for me!

A lovely walk near to Bowness yesterday. Bluebells nearly out, just lacking a little sunshine.

HEIGHT TOP FARM HOLIDAY COTTAGES.

This is one of a pair of Sedge Warblers. We've seen them in the same field for about a week now but can only seem to photograph one of them. It isn't rare but it's song is very noisy!

Swift Tower now in situ :)  Brian kindly let Ken use the JCB Telehandler to move it to it's position. There are four nesting boxes in the lower part and eight in the top. We will be keeping a close watch on which birds are inquisitive and which birds actually use it.

Another busy weekend.

The pond has been frozen for so long that I had forgotten to check on what if anything may be happening.  Looks like we will be having a few frogs this time!

Glorious sunshine and just a bit warmer today.
We thought the old bike wasn't going anywhere in November. Three weeks ago today we couldn't even see it!

Well I can't say spring is in the air today, but we are being eased gently into lambing. Started last week and getting into the swing today. I love this time. The newly born lambs are  such a delight to watch.

I'm really pleased to see that Kens Little Owl is still here and looking good. He is also still extremely camera shy and I'm not quick enough, BUT watch this space.
