Height Top Farm Holiday Cottages

Ken has started mowing this afternoon!!! 3rd. September. Not sure if it will make hay yet depends on the weather!!!
Help Barrie, what is having a feast on the fence post. Is it a kestrel?
This ladybird looks all washed out and last but not least this butterfly was sunning itself in the greenhouse.

Thank you to Robert and Anne for your hospitality today. Farm Demo Day. Interesting topics which we are going to explore further. Lovely to look around your cottages which are superb.

Went out on our mountain bikes yesterday into Gisburn Forest!!!!!! Saw four people altogether. I didn't use my camera because we were caught in torrential rain. Have to say thoroughly enjoyed getting very wet and very very dirty. Going again as soon as I can persuade Ken. (He is a little bit saddle sore lol)

A picture of our guests who left Mrs. Wagtails Cottage this morning. In the last couple of days they have seen a kestrel and this morning a hare and two white butterflies.

Well what a mixed bag of weather we've had this last week. One excellent piece of news, guests staying in Jenny Wrens Cottage saw a "Hen Harrier" yesterday. It was seen just above Dene Farm on one of our walk from the door routes. They were sure it was a Hen Harrier and confirmed with checking in the bird identification book back at Jenny Wrens.

An excellent day today, watching not one, but two special people in succession carrying the Olympic Torch in Burnley. Congratulations and very well done to Lucy and Lizzie. Everyone is very, very proud of you.
